The Journeys

Days joined into one trip, in the order that makes sense on the map.

Three ways to join the days, in the order that makes sense on the map.

How the journeys work

Puerto Rico is small enough to cross in a day and large enough to fill a week. A journey joins our days in an order that keeps the road kind: the old city first, then the mountains, then the coasts.

Every day begins with pickup where you are staying, and every table and entrance is held before you arrive.

For a long weekend

2 days: San Juan & the Interior

The old city and the mountains behind it.

For a long weekend, or a short stay that wants more than the city. The first day stays in San Juan and runs into the evening; the second goes inland, to the rivers or the mountain road.

  1. Day 1
    Old San Juan, Unhurried

Five centuries of streets, walked at the pace of the people who live on them.

    ThenSan Juan After Dark

The city’s cocktail rooms, at the hour they come alive. Adults only.

  2. Day 2
    River & Stone

Cold water, warm stone, and a swim you will remember on the flight home.

    OrThe Cordillera

The road through the middle of the island, and the towns that grew along it.

For a first visit

3 days: The Island in Three

North, center and south. The shape of the whole island.

For a first visit. Three days that give you the island from top to bottom: the old city on the north coast, the mountains through the middle, and Ponce on the Caribbean side.

  3. Day 3
    The Southern City

Ponce is grand, warm and proud of it. We give it the whole day.

For the whole island

5 days: The Long Way Around

Coast, mountains, south and west. Puerto Rico, end to end.

For travelers who want the island whole. Five days that begin in the old city, follow the coast east, cross the mountains to the south, and end on the western shore as the light goes down.
